A DEEP PURPOSE

Japan Camp is for everyone. Our programs are inclusive and open to all — boys and girls, from under-11 players right through to adults.

Japan Camp was founded in 2013 due to a strong desire to explore and understand the intricacies of Japanese football. Our founder’s passion for the the technical aspects of youth football, combined with experience in Australian coaching drove him to seek firsthand knowledge in Japan.

In a bold move in 2013, our founder Ehsan Popal reached out to Tom Byer, a globally recognized grassroots football expert in Japan. Ehsan invested time and effort to meet Tom and made the dream a reality meeting Japan’s leading grassroots expert who had shaped Japanese development over the last 30 years. Under Tom's mentorship, Ehsan developed a unique relationship that deepened his understanding of Japanese youth development. He dedicated significant time to studying and learning about Japanese football, culture, history, and traditions.

Japan Camp unrivalled love for Japanese culture and commitment to the development of Australian football and its communities led to the creation of Japan Camp. We’v recognized Japan as the ideal destination for Australian culture to connect, learn, and create lasting impressions. Through Japan Camp, we aims to enrich the footballing experience for future generations and Australian culture.
